Hypnotherapy for fears and phobias
Information about hypnotherapy for fears and phobias.
Sometimes we have a fear response for very good reasons and it is to keep us safe. As an example if we were near a cliff edge and start to feel anxious, it is to keep us safe and to give us a warning not to go to near the edge.
Fears and phobias can sometimes be created from a particular incident in the past or it can be something learnt from a care giver. An example of that could be a parent showing anxious signs to something and the child learning from that behaviour and takes on that response too.
Fears and phobias can be very disabling at times and causing less progression in our lives. It may cause us to avoid situations or it may stop us from taking opportunities or it may cause us to react in other ways. As a personal example I used to feel incredibly nervous at public speaking in my previous career of being a photographer. Before my first networking experience I spent 3 hours rehearsing a 40 second pitch. That is a lot of time.
A phobia tends to be a more stronger reaction to something specific. Sometimes people can’t even say the word that creates the response.
