The mind can’t tell the difference between fact of fiction and because of this we can use hypnosis to improve sport performance. As an example it may be having a more neutral response when entering into a competition and to feel more calm and at ease. With neural plasticity, and rehearsing in hypnosis we can strengthen a desired result within our mind to improve our physical sporting performance. I remember the frustration of going to a competition or in a match and not performing as I liked. I then would say a few negative based words to myself which would repeat in my mind throughout the event which caused me to tens up and perform even worse as the event went on. I would also leave in more of a negative mood then when I started which I originally was feeling positive for going to the game. My own experience of bringing hypnotherapy for sport performance not only helped me to improve my sport performance it also brought the fun back into it. My results within cricket was that my batting technique improved and because of that so did my runs. I felt calmer when batting and felt I was more value to the team as well as enjoying the experience more than before. I’ve helped others with sport to calm their nervous and perform better. I’ve also helped others to feel more aligned and to get into the zone much more easily and effectively.
